Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.

Psalm 34:8

I invite you to come and sit for a short while and enjoy a single serving of God’s love—just a taste of God’s goodness to keep you going through the day.

If you are like me, a single mom trying to raise kids alone, work full-time and squeeze in time for a life; often time alone with God gets shoved to the last fifteen minutes of the day when you can barely keep your eyes open.

Today, I ask you to stop, put down the laundry basket, and don’t answer the phone. Take just fifteen minutes or more. . . to sit at your Father’s feet. Dine at His table. He desires to be in your presence. “The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17

Taste and see that the Lord is good. He cares for you, so cast your cares on Him (1 Pet. 5:7).  Dine at His table and fill up with His living water. Only He can truly satisfy your cravings. “Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.” Psalm 107: 8, 9

I know you are just one person doing the job God intended for two. You probably did not choose this position; however, circumstances have brought you to this place in life, willing or not.  How you became a single parent is not important. What is important is that you know you are not alone. There is someone who cares for your every need, your heart’s desires and even your whims. He cares when your tires go flat and you’re late for work. When you can’t pay the phone bill and your baby-sitter gets the flu. When you ace that tough exam and your son learns to swim. He’s right there with you in your victories and defeats. Nothing goes unnoticed by your heavenly husband. He never sleeps or slumbers and is always at work on your behalf. “He will not let your foot slip—he who watches over you will not slumber;” Psalm 121:3

He does not judge or condemn you or say, “I told you so” or “You made your bed, now lay in it.” He doesn’t demand perfection, but just beckons you to come to Him and sit at His feet, giving Him control of your life.

Through my book, Single Servings, I desire to give you a revelation of God’s goodness and love, that will bring healing to your soul, build your trust in Him, and help you develop an intimate relationship with God as your husband. God has shown Himself to me in the daily activities of life—in the miraculous and the ordinary, but mostly in the ordinary.  He has proven faithful as my husband and provider. Through my experiences I hope you will be encouraged and believe He will do the same for you. “. . . God does not show favoritism . . . .”  Acts 10:34

In His love is where you will find healing, rest and nourishment to continue your race through this life. He is with you and will never leave you or forsake you (Heb. 13:5).

Enter into His presence; there is a chair at the table just for you. Pull it up and sit for a while, the Lord wants to serve you.
